my routine of waking up, checking email for job alerts, sending out resumes shall stop with effect from tomorrow. haha. i've gotten myself a job! wheeness! a good paying one at that. freak those jobs/companies whose requirements state "bilingual in english and mandarin". :)

and from being a desperate seeker of jobs, now i have the chance to reject 2 others! haha. went down all the ulu serangoon gardens for a position at mr tan ee lee's company. not very impressive, i tell you. the company's an SME and it's housed in a well, house. i had the impression that it was a big company, building and all. had to rely on www.streetdirectory.com which didn't really help. so the bus went past this industrial'ish area, nice buildings and all. thinking it was that, i alighted. yes, i mis-alighted. was very disappointed when i actually got to that company. they were gonna offer me 5 an hour and i told the girl it's too little. plus there'd be cpf deduction! so she said she'll get back to me. but what the heck!

anyway! i'm gonna be an admin assistant at this small internet company tomorrow onwards. the job entails a lot of making phone calls, so the owner interviewed me through the telephone. he even made me speak french! haha. he interviewed about 20 plus and shortlisted 8 for a face to face interview. and i was one of the 8, so went down to see him yesterday at this lil quaint shophouse in err, serangoon. he needed 2 temp staff and he said he'd get back by last night. and up till midnight last night, his e-mail didn't come. so this morning i e-mailed him and said "disappointment aside, do consider me should there be future job openings in the future." and he called me an hour later and said "hafiz, you've got it all wrong!" haha. embarrassed like i've never been before.

and! i got a call on sunday too from quiksilver. [surfer fiz!] they shortlisted me for an interview, which was yesterday too. so there i was bullcrapping to that lady. "i love meeting new people" and all. and the way she spoke was as if i'm confirmed for the job like that. her higher boss will get back to me next week and i'll try asking if i can work on weekends or not. haha. staff discount man! though, i highly doubt that.

was talking to nick and he used this phrase "humpthumb him." humpthumb? i hentam him lor. what else? machiam? it's macam please. kana/gana? kena. what else, my malay friends? sorry for bitching, but i don't like it when the words get mutated.

anyway! i just came back from grocery shopping. went to buy my stuff for potato salad. mini-celebratio tonight! haha. and yes! there's a house party this saturday at a french classmate's place! think i'm gonna bake meringues. yayness. okay! work starts tomorrow! money money money. shopping will resume! anyone? :D
