mom called me at work on friday and asked where'd i want to go for a holiday. assuming it was unconditional, i was thinking of madrid, london and paris! sadly i don't think a trip to europe is in the making. the thing is, my mom's going to france this sept! argh. so that leaves her with only 5 days of leave. add two weekends [in what's probably the best combination] and you'll get 9 days. europe in 9 days is like grossly insufficient! 2 days eaten up by long flights and you'll be left with 7 days. sigh. and i'm never gonna get to tour the universities in wales. double sigh.
my mom suggested sydney and gold coast. so we went to chinatown to like ask around for the prices and stuff. the conclusion? an estimated 2000 bucks per person! wtf. and worst thing is we cant earn mileage! 2000 bucks can fly you to europe, free and easy, for 2 weeks! sad. the free and easy packages arent that significantly cheaper either. i'd rather we go on a f&e tour. i'm more of the shopping kind than the sightseer. haha. so prolly we'll book our own tix and accomodation and join local tours. thing is, my bro's following so it'll have to be in nov. sigh. never mind. an october holiday would probably mean i get to save money on food. ha.
breakfast at the old woodlands checkpoint this morning. the pratas there are like fantastic. and the sardine gravy to go with the prata, equally wonderful! and i ended up 58 bucks poorer. nope, didnt spend that much on breakfast. told my mom i'll go get the newspapers so while looking for me she went into this electrical shop and asked for the price of the dvd player. and i got it. it's some kenwood wannabe, but it's damn cheap! oh well. what's the desperate housewives dvd series without a player right? [oh yes. she went into the shop empty and 5 mins into her presence, people started streaming in. it's not the first time! boutiques, shops, whatever, more people just start to stream into shops she's in. i've always noticed that. haha]
think the cost of my dvd player just dipped into my 400 bucks savings. plus i haven't got enough cash to survive till the next payday! damn. come next payday, i'll only be left with 300 bucks of savings. nvm. i'll have till november to save up.
closeted clubbers [like yours truly] looking for good remixes need to look no more. windows media player is actually capable of upping the tempo of the song [as taught by dear mel], so even a slow song can become a let's-hit-the-dancefloor song! haha. go and check it out!. meanwhile, it's just me and my housewives and my uber cheap dvd player! me, outttttt.
